First year is a time when many university students are still finding their footing.
Minenhle Ncube, a first-year student at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), is already carving out a unique and inspiring path.
Balancing the demands of academic life, a promising modelling career, and a deep commitment to charity work, Minenhle is proving that young people can indeed wear many hats and wear them well.
Currently pursuing a first degree at CUT, Minenhle has shown impressive dedication in the lecture room while also turning heads in Zimbabwe’s emerging fashion and modelling circuits.
She has already featured in several local runway shows and campaigns that promote African beauty and culture.
But it is her passion for giving back that truly sets her apart. In between lectures and photoshoots, Minenhle dedicates her weekends and free time to helping underprivileged families in Chinhoyi and surrounding communities.
She volunteers with local food drive initiatives, donates clothing, and has helped organize awareness campaigns on mental health and hygiene among youth and young girls.
“I believe we were not created to serve ourselves only,” she says.
“If I can use my voice, my time, and even my image to raise awareness or bring a smile to someone’s face, then I feel fulfilled.”
Friends describe her as driven, grounded, and compassionate — a rare combination in a fast-paced digital age.
As she continues her journey, Minenhle hopes to merge her love for environmental science with her advocacy work, particularly focusing on sustainable development and youth empowerment.
She also has plans to start a foundation aimed at mentoring teenage girls and providing them with access to school supplies and sanitary products.
In a world often obsessed with appearances, Minenhle Ncube is showing that real beauty lies in the balance between ambition, compassion, and purpose.
