ZIM PRIMARY SCHOOLS FOR PAN AFRICAN COMPETITIONS

FIVE local primary schools have been selected to participate at the Pan African Junior Schools Debate  competitions in Nairobi, Kenya.

The schools qualified during the SADC Competitions, which were held in Mozambique, in August, this year.

They will be competing against schools from East Africa from November 24 to 27.

The team will travel courtesy of the Primary Schools Debate Challenge (PriDC).

The competition will be running under the theme “Speaking Against All Odds As African Children.”

PriCD director, National Marwa, said:

“We have schools that are traveling to Nairobi for the Pan African Junior Schools Debate Competitions in November.

“These schools qualified from the SADC Competitions held in Mozambique in August.

“Zimbabwe will be represented by Munro Primary School, School, Chivaraidze Primary School, Oceanwaves Junior School and Old Windsor Primary School.

“These schools will be competing against their counterparts from Mozambique, Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania,” he said.

Marwa added:

“They participated exceptionally in Mozambique and emerged victorious.

“As organisers, we feel that this is a milestone for Zimbabwean education as a whole as it shows how competent our education system is.

“Zimbabwean students have been winning medals at such competitions.”
